Here are the kids watching all the animals and other fun things:
David is saying, "Where'd they go?" after the elephants left the arena.
Grandpa and Levi after Levi got to run the hallways to burn off some energy.
David and Aria REALLY wanted down to get closer to the elephants and ponies. Obviously we had to keep ahold of them.
Lucas is my precious little doll. He is the best baby. We hardly ever hear a peep out of him, except if I've put off his feeding a little too long and he lets me know. Sometimes I think Dan and I can both forget he's there. This especially happens around supper time when he is happily observing the three-ring circus that is David, Aria and Levi plus mommy and daddy trying to cook for everyone and feed everyone.
As of a couple days ago, Lucas weighed over 18.5 pounds. He is wearing 9 month clothes, but probably not for long. The shirts are unfortunately a little snug. He is long and thick. His chubby thighs are amazing and I joke that his cheeks hang down past his chin. The good news is that he has finally decided that he is big enough to sleep through the night (10pm to 6:30am) and give his parents a break! We haven't started feeding any cereal yet, so I am glad he is doing this on his own. I would say he definitely doesn't need a middle of the night feeding.
Lucas has been rolling from his tummy to his back since the middle of January, but as of Friday night, he now rolls from his back to his tummy! Dan and I were out on a date while Grandpa and Grandma Nebelsick were babysitting. He showed off his new rolling skills to them first, even though Mommy had been watching him and helping him learn for a week! Lucas really loves his tummy time now, so I am hoping he grows big and strong like David did. David was our tummy kid. The benefits showed when he sat up, crawled and walked earlier than Aria and Levi. This video captures the first time I ever saw Lucas roll over. He had been doing it a for a couple days, but only while I wasn't looking!
Lucas is going to have deep brown eyes like Levi. To me, his face shape most resembles Aria as a baby. Otherwise, he totally looks like his-own self... just like the other three. He has gotten very talkative and squeals often. His favorite time to interact is during diaper changes. His eyes light up and he "talks" and smiles. He is very attached to his Momma and doesn't let me get away much. The first couple months, he took an occasional bottle while traveling, but he refuses all bottles now. That doesn't afford me much of a break, but one little baby to have around all the time just doesn't seem like that much work after the triplets! :) The past two Friday nights, Dan and I have had dinner on our own, so we are very blessed with "couple" time despite having four kids under the age of two.
Our next big move for Lucas will be getting a bedroom! For the first few months, he stay in our room in a playpen. We have a crib for him, but it is in the dining room so there is a safe place from the toddlers on the main floor for him to play. He can play behind the gate, but they can still toss things over it at him if they felt like it. I don't trust them to not think of that. So, for the past couple months he has been sleeping in the dining room and our monitor has worked fine keeping tabs on him. I think the seperation has made him a better sleeper. Now, we are considering a couple different arrangements for tonight when we get him another crib set up. That's right, we have five cribs in the house. Whodathunk? Not me!
